Bellevue Botanical Garden

A Science Discovery Program for Preschoolers

Is your 3-5 year-old child interested in things that grow, fly or crawl? Designed especially for preschoolers, our 4-week program will teach kids about the many parts of a garden, from birds to bugs and lots in between.

Classes are taught by an experienced preschool science teacher. The curriculum is based on “Growing Wild” and is part of “Project Learning Tree,” a nationally recognized science program.

Each week covers a different topic.

Our next Kids in the Garden session will take place in Summer 2017. The summer session begins on July 18, 2017 and will meet for four Tuesdays from 10:00 - 11:30am.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or other significant adult (grandparent, aunt/uncle, close friend, etc.). At each class we will read a story, do an art project, sing a song, eat a snack and get out into the garden!

Topics for each session:

July 18: Rocking with Rocks – Come learn about rocks and explore the rock garden
July 25: Friendly Ferns & Mosses – Get to know some of the ferns and mosses that grow at the garden and why they are so helpful!
August 8: Beneficial Bees – What job do bees do at the garden?
August 15: Healthy Habitats –Where do animals live? What do they need to live there?

Who: 3 to 5 year olds and their parent or significant adult. Children must be at least three years old and no older than five years old at the start of the program.

Four Tuesday mornings from 10:00-11:30am starting July 18, 2017 and ending August 15, 2017.
