A Science Discovery Program for Preschoolers

Is your 3-5 year-old child interested in things that grow, fly or crawl? Designed especially for preschoolers, our 4-week program will teach kids about the many parts of a garden, from birds to bugs and lots in between.

Classes are taught by an experienced preschool science teacher. The curriculum is based on “Growing Wild” and is part of “Project Learning Tree,” a nationally recognized science program.

Each week covers a different topic.

Our next Kids in the Garden session will take place in Autumn 2017. The autumn session begins on September 26, 2017 and will meet for four consecutive Tuesdays from 10:00 - 11:30am.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or other significant adult (grandparent, aunt/uncle, close friend, etc.). At each class we will read a story, do an art project, sing a song, eat a snack and get out into the garden!

Topics for each session:

Leaves (Sep 26)– Fall is a great time to look at leaves and seeds around the garden!  Why do leaves fall and where do seeds go?
Magical Mushrooms (Oct 3) – Let’s go looking for mushrooms and find out what part they play in the garden’s cycle of life.
Spider Web Wonders (Oct 10) - Why do spiders spin webs? Come and learn more about these interesting creatures!
Owls and Bats (Oct 17) - Whoo, whoo...flies at night? As the days get shorter, come learn about the animals that fly at night.

Who: 3 to 5 year olds and their parent or significant adult. Children must be at least three years old and no older than five years old at the start of the program.

Four Tuesday mornings from 10:00-11:30am starting September 26, 2017 and ending October 17, 2017.
