Bringing Distant Lands to BBG: An Inside Look at the Flora and Botanical Gardens of Ukraine, Georgia, and Armenia

This is a rare opportunity to learn about the natural worlds, botanical gardens, and environmental challenges of Ukraine, Georgia, and Armenia! Botanist-educators from each country will share photographs and descriptions of their countries, and the crucial role played by their botanical gardens in spreading environmental education and preserving biodiversity. There will also be a chance to hear about the ongoing environmental education exchange program that brought this group to the Seattle area, and to hear firsthand about the impacts of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
