The King County Master Gardener Foundation presents “Cool Plants, Hot Topics,” their annual fall plant sale and talks. Enjoy curated speakers and the colors of the Bellevue Botanical Garden as it transitions into fall while you shop regional plant and gardening vendors. Get early access to the plant sale at 9:30am with online registration for all three talks.
This year’s inspiring education event features practical strategies for growing a resilient garden in a changing climate: Gardening for Change: Protecting and Ensuring Our Biodiverse Environment. Learn from expert speakers Cassie Knavel (WSDA), Alma Cardenas, and Molly van der Burch—all Extension Master Gardeners. Their topics will include invasive species threats, gardening for biodiversity, and keystone plants. Shop for a great selection of plants from local vendors including Washington Native Plant Society, Celestial Dreams Gardens, Fancy Fronds and more. Arrange a beautiful bouquet at the Bloom Bar. And be sure to bring the kids! They’ll find hands-on activities at a special table hosted by the Bellevue Botanical Garden Society. Here, youngsters can plant something to take home, learn about grasslands and meadows, and also try the “Find it Challenge!” at the Garden. Make a day of it!
