National Public Gardens Week

The week after Mother’s Day, many of the nation’s public gardens will offer special events and activities to encourage visitors to explore and discover their local public gardens, while learning about each garden’s commitment to education, research and environmental stewardship. The Bellevue Botanical Garden is honored to participate in this special week.

 Monday, May 13

11am-12pm: Curator’s Walk with Alex Wright; meet at the water wall at BBG entry

Tuesday, May 14

11am-12pm: Curator’s Walk with Alex Wright; meet at the water wall at BBG entry
1-3pm: Meet Washington Native Plant Society and East Lake Washington District of Garden Clubs in the newly renovated Native Discovery Garden

Wednesday, May 15

10-11am: Observe annual Dahlia planting in the Dahlia Display garden
11am-12pm: Curator’s Walk with Alex Wright; meet at the water wall at BBG entry
1-3pm: Meet the Waterwise team in the Waterwise Garden
7pm: Bellevue Botanical Garden Society Lecture: “The Art of Gardening” with Dan Benarcik, Horticulturist at Chanticleer. $5 BBGS members/$15 non-members. MORE INFO & BUY TICKETS.

Thursday, May 16

11am-12pm: Curator’s Walk with Alex Wright; meet at the water wall at BBG entry
6:30 pm: Dahlia planting demonstration in the Dahlia Display garden
7pm: Puget Sound Dahlia Association meeting in The Aaron Education Center

Friday, May 17

11am-12pm: Curator’s Walk with Alex Wright; meet at the water wall at BBG entry
12pm and 2pm: Docent tours 

Saturday, May 18

10am-5pm: Chinese Floral Arts Exhibit
10am-2pm: Master Gardener Clinic
12pm and 2pm: Docent tours
2-4pm: Chinese Tea and Culture Presentation 

Sunday, May 19

10am-4pm: Chinese Floral Arts Exhibit
12pm and 2pm: Docent tours
10am-2pm: Meet the North American Rock Garden Society in the Rock Garden
