Summer Dry Gardening in the Pacific NW
June 15 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm$25 – $35
Today’s gardens need to do multiple jobs: conserve water, create wildlife habitat, and be beautiful and inviting spaces. However, water is a precious resource that is becoming more and more expensive, and longer and drier summers are requiring a gardening paradigm shift. Common challenges for these new types of gardens include plant selection, siting, and installation methods. This class will cover an introduction to our Pacific Northwest climate, summer dry gardening history and inspiration, suitable plant choices, planting techniques, and gardens of inspiration. There will also be a walk to look at some of the plants and techniques in the BBG. Attendees will leave the workshop inspired and ready to tackle their gardening challenges!
